Blinds To Go has got you covered

Blinds To Go has officially debuted in the Design District. Its welcoming showroom at 330 King Street East at Parliament boasts a wide array of window coverings.

As Jithin George, the sales manager, explains, “Whether you’re looking for something particular, like wood blinds, roller shades, shutters, or would simply like to explore the many options available, I, along with our design consultants, would be happy to help.”

Henrique Morais is one consultant. “When a client comes to our store, we need to find a few answers before planning any design: Which room are we talking about? How do they use the space? Do they need privacy, room darkening, or light filtering only?”

He stresses the importance of a thorough consultation to determine a client’s needs and vision. Educating clients is an integral part of the role he and his colleagues play, as most people are new to custom blinds, and are unsure of what to expect. What may seem like a daunting undertaking is simplified.

“Firstly, we need to identify the function. After that, we start looking for the perfect style, with an eye on budget as well. Once these criteria are met, the client will have the best solution for his/her window covering.”

Valerie Moyo-Davis, another design consultant, and an interior decorating maven, says whether a client craves a look that’s classic, contemporary or unique, there’s a window of opportunity. “Over the past few years, there’s been a resurgence of interest in curtains and drapes. We have a variety of materials to choose from, such as linen, cotton, silk, and even velvet.”

Designer rods come in a variety of finishes: polished nickel, antique brass, antique silver, matte black, and oil-rubbed bronze. For pleated drapery on flat panels, clip rings are also available in those finishes. The company offers a lifetime warranty on all custom-made products.

Moyo-Davis says she and her colleagues have a solid understanding of the design challenges encountered by local community residents, given the prevalence of heritage homes and condos, all with different types of windows and casings to consider. Free in-home design services through Blinds To Go’s Shop-At-Home consultations can be especially helpful in such cases. Measurements can be taken, and installations arranged.

Whether you’re looking to tackle a fall renovation/remodelling project or update the look of your home, finding inspiration just got a little easier.
